The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Electrician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team at our Morton Mains Plant. This is a full time, permanent role which plays a key part in the day to day operation of maintaining plant reliability and supporting continuous production. You will be responsible for electrical fault finding, preventative maintenance, compliance, and supporting capital and shutdown projects across the site.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, based on a 45 hour per week rotating day and afternoon/night shifts.

Responsibilities will include:

Monitoring of all plant electrical systems.

Manage all site electrical maintenance, repairs and faults.

Complete work compliant with health and safety best practice.

Identify improvements and implement solutions.

Asset and system inspections and ordering of spare parts.

Working in with production schedules.

Responsible for compliance to onsite standards.

Diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.

Capable of troubleshooting PLC related issues.

VSD fault finding and diagnostics.

Understanding of automation and electrical systems.

Apply best practise electrical engineering standards and methods.

On call roster and covering emergency call outs if required.

Adaptable and team oriented, with a flexible approach to shift work and the ability to work additional hours as required to meet operational demands.

Experience:

NZ registered electrician and relevant trade certificate.

Computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) experience.

Health and safety

Follow all H&S guidelines.

Lead and model good H&S behaviours.

Complete all assigned H&S training.

Report any H&S issues promptly.

Quality

Lead, demonstrate and promote behaviours that ensure the highest standards of product quality.

Actively monitor quality outcomes and act early to address issues.

Support plant and systems audits.

Support the investigation and resolution of customer and consumer complaints.

Continuous improvement

Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the role: Always look for ways to improve what we do and how we do it. Raise ideas and follow through for implementation.

Support others in driving improvements.

About You:

You are a registered electrician with a minimum of three years' experience, and you have excellent understanding of safety interlock systems along with knowledge of power and control circuits. Basic automation knowledge is desirable along with a desire to learn. You are a confident communicator, able to work shift work and pride yourself on maintaining good working relationships with a diverse range of people.
