Pre-Analytical Medical Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Assistant

Medlab Central is a Palmerston North based private Medical Laboratory providing services to the hospital and surrounding communities.

The Medlab Central team has a commitment to service excellence, being aware of both our responsibility and accountability to deliver services of the highest quality to fully satisfy the expectations of patients and their medical advisors.

We have a casual position for a Pre-Analytical Medical Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Assistant to join our Medlab Palmerston North IANZ registered laboratory team.

Hours of Work:

1.   Casual:

Weekdays between 7.30am and 10.00pm.

Saturdays between 8.00am and 12.00 noon.

The successful applicant will preferably have experience in a medical laboratory, although full training will be given to a successful applicant with no experience, and on-going support would be provided.

You would need to

1.   Accurately follow detailed instructions and procedures;

2.   Have an awareness of ethical, privacy, and procedural regulations;

3.   Be part of a team with the ability to effectively communicate and fit in with the team environment;

4.   Work towards obtaining an Annual Practicing Certificate with NZ Medical Science Council;

5.   Have a clean NZ Driver’s Licence;

6.   Be legally entitled to work in NZ;

7.   Be willing to undergo a security and criminal record check; and

8.   To be fully vaccinated and maintain a full vaccination status as determined by the employer.
