Process Technician, Model Y, Production Control
Job Description
**What to Expect**
The Process Technician is critical in ensuring manufacturing lines produce high-quality products efficiently. This role involves deep engagement with Engineering, Quality, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to enhance process reliability, implement quality checks, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
**What You'll Do**
- Develop, update, and refine manufacturing instructions and rework procedures in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to quality standard
- Monitor and manage production line processes daily, executing rapid interventions to address out-of-control conditions and mitigate cost impacts while maximizing productivity
- Analyze process data and implement countermeasures to enhance product yield, utilizing statistical analysis and root cause analysis methodologies
- Conduct experiments and interpret results to provide actionable insights for process optimization, under the guidance of process engineers
- Maintain and enhance maintenance and calibration procedures, trial new components, and integrate process changes in collaboration with the NPI team
- Perform detailed quality audits to proactively identify and address potential issues, supporting Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to streamline operations and improve efficiency
**What You'll Bring**
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and other workplace software for process documentation and analysis
- Expertise in analyzing test data, diagnosing malfunctions or deviations, and implementing process corrections using statistical and engineering principles
- Proficiency with a range of hand tools and portable diagnostic equipment for process and equipment maintenance
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to support troubleshooting and process improvement efforts
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
