Procurement Technician, Manufacturing Test

**What to Expect**

As a Procurement Technician, you will support procurement, receiving, inventory management, material handling, and shipping activities for the Manufacturing Test & Equipment Engineering team. This team develops custom, high-power, automated test equipment used to validate batteries and power electronics for Tesla vehicle and energy products across production lines globally.

In this role, you will work closely with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and internal operations teams to ensure materials are sourced, received, tracked, and delivered efficiently to support equipment builds and deployments. The position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

**What You'll Do**

• Support procurement activities including sourcing components, creating purchase requests, tracking orders, and coordinating with suppliers
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
• Manage inventory levels for electrical and mechanical components used in equipment builds
• Maintain accurate inventory records and track material movement within internal systems
• Organize and maintain storage areas for parts, assemblies, and build materials
• Coordinate material handling and delivery of parts to technicians and engineers supporting equipment builds
• Prepare and manage shipments of equipment, assemblies, and parts to Tesla factories and contract manufacturers
• Work closely with procurement teams and vendors to resolve order discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials
• Support logistics coordination for domestic and international shipments when required. Assist with maintaining standardized BOM templates, part numbers, and supplier documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve procurement efficiency, inventory accuracy, and build throughput

**What You'll Bring**

• 4+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain support
• Strong organizational and material tracking skills with high attention to detail
• Experience receiving, inspecting, and processing shipments
• Familiarity with automation controls mechanical and electrical components is preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment
• Experience working with procurement systems, inventory software, or ERP systems is preferred
• Comfortable using spreadsheets and tracking tools for material management
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and move materials and equipment when required
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Material handling equipment experience (Forklift, rider, pallet jack)
