Product Manager | AI for Lawyers and Accountants
Job Description
Nylon builds AI research tools that are changing how lawyers and accountants work. More than 2,000 firms across New Zealand, Australia and the UK trust our platform, from the biggest firms in the world to small specialist practices. Backed by Australasia's top VCs, we're expanding relentlessly into new markets.
We're growing the product team, and we're looking for a Product Manager to help decide what we build next and make sure it's what our clients need to excel.
THE ROLE
You'll own problems end to end, from what to build and why it matters through to whether it worked.
Our roadmap runs from the research engine itself through to the workflow around it. You'll take a slice of that, work out what should exist, and drive it through engineering, design and go-to-market.
We have a strong in-person culture, so you'll be based full-time in our Auckland CBD office, working closely with the product team, designers, engineering and the founders.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Working with users, leadership and internal teams to find the highest-value product opportunities
Turning customer feedback, usage data and business priorities into clearly scoped, well-argued initiatives
Learning how lawyers and accountants actually work, in depth, and using that to improve usability, adoption and impact
Making the trade-off calls and writing them down, so the team knows what we chose and why
Following work through to release, then measuring whether it moved the number you said it would
Solving novel problems. We work at the frontier of AI systems, so much of what you do has no known answer
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a high-agency problem solver, and we're open to two different backgrounds.
Either you've done the job
3+ years in product management, ideally B2B SaaS, with products you can point at and talk through
You've run discovery, scoped the work, shipped it and owned the outcome
Or you know the work
You've practised as a lawyer or accountant, or done professional legal or tax research, and can solve a client's problem from a standing start
You're seriously interested in AI and technology, and already use these tools in your own work
You want to build the product rather than use it. We'll teach you the craft
Either way
World-class problem-solving and analytical skills
Exceptional written communication. Clear writing is how decisions get made here
You operate like an owner and fix problems before anyone asks
A view on where AI tooling helps and where it doesn't
You thrive in the scale-up stage, with little playbook, real ownership and decisions that matter
WHAT YOU'LL GET
Competitive salary, based on experience and capability
Employee share options (ESOP), so you own a piece of what you build
Direct exposure to product strategy, customer problems and execution in a fast-growing AI company
A category-defining product with proven market traction
A small, high-performance team where your judgement matters and your progression is real
ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE
The right to work permanently in New Zealand
* Based in Auckland (this is a full-time, in-office role in the CBD)
