The Role
Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Infrastructure Specialist to drive the delivery of a construction and infrastructure project as part of a complex International Development programme.
You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of project delivery from project initiation, design through to implementation and evaluation—ensuring the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead end-to-end delivery of the project
Oversee and manage procurement, contracts, and suppliers
Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and reporting
Track budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
Ensure quality, compliance, and strong project governance
Build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally across NZ and the Pacific
About You
The Infrastructure Specialist Project Manager will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:
Required Experience:
• 5+ years of Project Management experience in infrastructure and construction project management or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects in difficult environments including the management of more than one project simultaneously.
• Contract, procurement and supplier management
• Budget and financial management experience
It would be advantageous to have:
• Any exposure to the pacific or international development space
• Engineering qualification or equivalent
• Experience in the tendering, procurement and contracting of work, and on contractual management of suppliers
• Experience with NZS3910/3916 contract suite or similar
• Experience working in an international context, and an understanding of development issues (preferred)
• Experience working in infrastructure sector or on construction projects
Requirements
NZ citizenship or permanent residence required
Ability to obtain and maintain a NZ Government security clearance
