We're looking for a Senior Projects Manager who can deliver excellence, manage client relationships, and run projects from sales handover to completion or sign off. Kauri Park specialise in providing landscaping/ planting services across Greenfield subdivisions, Tier 1 Roading projects and Ecology restoration projects. This is a highly accountable role which takes the lead of managing all projects post sale in primarily the Auckland to Waikato region. The role is partially seasonal, where the majority of planting takes place between May-September, while the rest of the season is dedicated to preparing sites and maintaining previous projects. You'll have the opportunity to influence in bringing suggestions to the project's delivery team and the board of Kauri Park.
Key responsibilities
Be the primary point of contact for clients post sale, remaining clear, responsive, and ahead of challenges to deliver to client expectations
Manage team foremen and subcontractors through setting site expectations
Prepare job and audit sheets for foremen and subcontractors, ensuring they have correct plans and information required
Oversee programme scheduling, budgets, and coordinate variations or claim schedules back to the office for quoting and approval
Work with finance and administrative team weekly/monthly to produce claims
Maintain strict quality control of all sites
Proactively solve problems early, keep sites moving while maintaining high standards
Attend Council walkovers on project sign offs and handovers as required
Check and approve invoices from subcontractors and site reports for projects directed by you
Engage practically with teams if required, which could involve pegging out sites or other duties as needed
You will require a well-rounded skills set of a project manager, in both an administrative side and the hands-on tasks.
This is a dynamic position and customer centric. This means it does command the customers’ attention, which would involve being identified with our sites as the face to our company. In essence this will require site set ups, council sign offs, meeting with clients and being proactive or at time reactive to customers’ needs or project needs at site.
About you
Ideally a background in landscaping, with ability to read and deliver upon landscape architect plans
Client-first operator who communicates professionally and builds trust to uphold relationships with all clients
Holds yourself, your team and subcontractors to Kauri Park standards
Brings solution options, not problems to the table when challenges arrive; proactive and decisive to solve these
Strong, confident leader who can challenge and hold teams and subcontractors accountable
Highly organised and proactive, able to use systems to effectively schedule workload and stay ahead of the curve
Experience in landscaping and able to read plans
Strong client relationship management and communication skills
Proven experience managing multiple sites, teams, and deadlines
Have an understanding of spreadsheets, systems and scheduling.
Detail orientated!
Solid understanding of NZ-3910 contract, budgets, and programme management

We’re seeking a candidate who can help grow the Projects division of Kauri Park, through both people and the tools/resource needed. This is a highly accountable role, which takes the lead of managing all projects post sale in primarily our Auckland to Waikato region.
