Purchasing Manager

The role

Costcutter, a grocery retail business in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, is seeking a full-time Purchasing Manager

to plan and manage its purchasing function and keep buying cost-effective across the business.

Responsibilities

• ● Determine what products, supplies, and equipment need to be sourced across the business's
• product ranges.
• ● Set purchasing approaches, decide where to seek competitive quotes or tenders, and evaluate
• supplier offers.
• ● Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers, and prepare purchase orders and contract
• paperwork.
• ● Arrange quality checks on incoming goods and hold suppliers to agreed delivery times and
• standards.
• ● Research and identify new products and suppliers, meet supplier representatives, and attend
• trade fairs.
• ● Forecast demand, monitor stock levels, and manage stock turnover, seasonal demand, and freight
• and delivery coordination.
• ● Keep up to date with procurement and food safety requirements and make sure sourcing follows
• them.

Requirements

• ● A bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, or a related area.
• ● Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally in a retail setting.
• ● Knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, price and terms negotiation, purchase-order
• processing, demand forecasting, and stock control.
• ● Understanding of retail pricing, product margins, inventory management, and stock turnover.
• ● Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability, negotiation, and communication skills.
• ● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and in purchasing, inventory-management, ERP, or point-of-sale
• systems.
