About the role
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support our management team and keep the commercial and Quantity Surveying side of the business running smoothly. You'll work closely with our Administration team, providing the pricing and project information they need to keep things on track. This role is based in Wellington, with the possibility of national travel. You'll be involved across the full project lifecycle — from pricing and tender submissions at the pre-tender stage, through to contract administration, variations, progress reporting and invoicing once a project is underway. It's a role that gives you visibility of a job from first pricing it right through to close-out.
Key responsibilities
Assist with the collation of tender pricing and submissions
Process variations and day work sheets
Produce monthly financial reports
Assist the Management team with progress information relating to current projects
Review contract documentation and present for sign-off by the Management team
Complete on-site measures for invoicing purposes
Prepare Warranty documentation for review and sign-off by the Management team
Attend and contribute to weekly meetings
Ensure all paperwork is accurate and completed
Complete quantity take-offs for tender purposes
About you
Minimum three years' proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector
Proficient with Bluebeam and CostX (or similar take-off and estimating software)
Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High EQ, a growth mindset, and strong interpersonal skills with a "can-do" attitude and a healthy sense of humour
Commercially astute, with an ability to identify areas of opportunity and improvement, then implement and embed change effectively
A full, clean driver's licence
An understanding of residential construction and/or passive fire protection would be advantageous but is not essential
