Ranch Hand
Job Description
Care and tend to cattle during the winter, including feeding, watering and caring for the herd. Glacier County is open range under Montana law, so neighbors’ cattle must be fenced out; workers repair fences and keep stray cattle off the ranch and off the seeded winter wheat. Shovel and plow snow to keep facilities open and operational, and keep ranch buildings warm and operational. Workers may perform minor building maintenance and help in the shop building cattle guards and other structures to be installed in the spring.
