About the Role

The *Recruitment and People

Coordinator* is responsible for coordinating and managing recruitment across

Bargain Chemist stores and HQ, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently,

professionally and in line with company processes.

This role provides practical

recruitment support and guidance to hiring managers, manages the recruitment

process from advertising through to appointment and pre-employment checks, and

maintains strong talent pipelines for current and future vacancies.

The role also coordinates key

recruitment-related programmes, including immigration and migrant-worker

processes and the intern recruitment programme, working closely with internal

stakeholders, universities, training providers and external advisers.

This is a hands-on role that

  • requires strong organisation, communication and relationship-building skills,
  • with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and priorities at the same time.
  • What You'll Bring to Life in this Role
  • Recruitment
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for store and Support Office
  • vacancies, from vacancy approval through to appointment.
  • Prepare and post job advertisements across appropriate
  • recruitment channels.
  • Review applications, shortlist candidates and coordinate
  • interviews.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand recruitment
  • requirements and provide practical recruitment guidance.
  • Coordinate candidate communication throughout the
  • recruitment process and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate reference checks, right-to-work checks and other
  • pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate employment offers and relevant
  • recruitment documentation.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure recruitment
  • processes are completed in line with company requirements.
  • Monitor vacancies and proactively follow up with hiring
  • managers to keep recruitment moving.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and
  • hard-to-fill roles.
  • Support internal recruitment and promotion processes where
  • appropriate.
  • Immigration & Migrant Recruitment
  • Coordinate employer accreditation, Job Checks and
  • migrant-worker recruitment processes.
  • Work with hiring managers and candidates to ensure required
  • immigration documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with immigration advisers and other external
  • providers as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of visa and immigration
  • requirements and key dates.
  • Support the business to meet its obligations in relation to
  • migrant-worker recruitment and employment.
  • Provide practical guidance to managers and candidates on
  • recruitment-related immigration processes, within the scope of the role.
  • Intern Programme Recruitment
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities for the
  • pharmacy intern programme.
  • Manage candidate communication, applications, interviews and
  • recruitment administration.
  • Coordinate with universities, training providers and
  • relevant pharmacy organisations.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager and National Intern
  • Coordinator to support intern workforce planning and recruitment.
  • Maintain accurate records and recruitment pipelines for
  • current and future intern cohorts.
  • Recruitment Reporting & Workforce Planning Support
  • Maintain accurate vacancy and recruitment tracking.
  • Prepare regular recruitment reports and updates for the HR
  • Manager and relevant managers.
  • Monitor recruitment activity, vacancy status, candidate
  • pipelines and time-to-fill.
  • Identify recruitment trends, recurring vacancies and
  • potential talent pipeline opportunities.
  • Maintain recruitment data and ensure information in
  • recruitment systems is accurate and up to date.
  • Stakeholder & External Relationships
  • Build effective working relationships with Store Managers,

Regional Managers, Cluster Managers, Support Office leaders and the wider

People & Culture team.

Provide responsive and professional recruitment support to

hiring managers.

Coordinate relationships with universities, training

providers and other recruitment partners.

Represent Bargain Chemist professionally when engaging with

candidates and external organisations.

Support recruitment initiatives, career events and other

talent attraction activities as required.

Systems & Administration

Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment information in

the recruitment system.

Ensure recruitment documentation is completed and stored

appropriately.

Maintain recruitment templates, processes and resources.

Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes and

systems.

Ensure recruitment activity complies with company policies,

processes and relevant employment and immigration requirements.

What We're Looking For

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, HR

coordination or a similar people-focused role.

Experience managing recruitment processes from advertising

through to appointment.

Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the

ability to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities.

Experience with immigration or migrant-worker recruitment

processes would be advantageous.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong relationship-building skills and confidence working

with managers at different levels.

Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when

managing recruitment and employment documentation.

Ability to work independently, take ownership and follow

tasks through to completion.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive

candidate and employee information appropriately.

Experience with recruitment or HR systems and Microsoft

Office.

Experience within pharmacy, retail, healthcare or a

multi-site environment would be advantageous.

Immigration and migrant-worker recruitment processes are

coordinated effectively and within required timeframes.

Intern recruitment is well organised and supported.

Recruitment data, vacancy records and reporting are accurate

and current.

Talent pipelines are developed for key and recurring

vacancies.

Recruitment processes continue to improve as the business

grows.

General Responsibilities

standards.

Maintain confidentiality and protect personal information.

Work collaboratively with the HR team and wider business.

Support a positive employee and candidate experience.
