Regional Manager (UK and INTO progression) at University of Exeter
Job Description
This is a full-time, permanent position that will be available from May 2024. It offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity, with some time spent on the Streatham campus at the University of Exeter and some time working remotely from home. Summary of the Role: In this role, you will be part of the International Student Recruitment Team and will be responsible for leading the university’s international recruitment strategy. The goal is to meet ambitious targets by representing the university to overseas audiences, enhancing its international brand and profile, and contributing to the university’s targets for international student recruitment. As a senior member of the team, you will lead the strategic response to the university’s recruitment objectives in specific regions. You will also supervise ISR staff who cover those regions, support colleagues in broader international recruitment policy and campaign activities, and lead strategic projects that promote international student growth. This will involve providing well-researched and timely guidance to colleagues on international student recruitment in specific regions to assist in policy-making. Additionally, you will act as the designated ISR lead for a faculty, coordinating the faculty’s international recruitment strategy and collaborating with relevant colleagues on the global strategy and delivery plan. You will attend faculty meetings, support planning and portfolio reviews, and provide advice and support for international marketing, recruitment, and conversion activities. You will also keep colleagues across the team and the wider service informed about developments and plans related to that faculty. Initially, this role will focus on UK-based international student recruitment, including maximizing the progression of students from our on-campus partner INTO, who offer academic and English language pathway courses. However, the responsible markets and regions may change over time, depending on university priorities and business needs. About You: We are seeking a collaborative team player and strategic planner who can identify areas for improvement and take ownership of improvement plans. You should have a good understanding of emerging market dynamics and recruitment approaches, as well as strong skills in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. Previous experience in staff management or supervision is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to make decisions and take the lead in implementing recruitment plans with minimal supervision. You will work collaboratively with Global Advancement and Global Partnerships to achieve jointly set objectives.
