Senior Designer, International
Job Description
Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Designer, International role stands out in SaaS because it sits where product adoption and brand trust are built across markets. For subscription businesses, consistency and clarity in how a product is presented can directly influence consideration, retention, and long-term credibility. The remit described, translating a global system into locally resonant work, reflects a mature SaaS organization operating at meaningful international scale with multiple stakeholder groups shaping go-to-market execution.
From a career standpoint, the position offers durable SaaS design experience in system thinking rather than one-off assets. Work spanning campaigns, launches, events, and partnerships builds fluency in how SaaS companies coordinate narrative across channels while maintaining governance over a brand framework. Collaboration with regional marketing, a central creative studio, and external agencies also mirrors the cross-functional operating model common in larger SaaS teams.
The role is best suited to a senior individual contributor who enjoys balancing conceptual direction with hands-on craft and who can explain design decisions to varied audiences. It will fit someone motivated by cultural nuance, comfortable iterating within constraints, and interested in the operational side of scaling creative quality across geographies.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
About the Team
We bring OpenAI’s brand to life around the world. As a multidisciplinary creative team, we design work that connects meaningfully with local cultures from flagship global campaigns and international events to deeply localized moments. In close collaboration with the U.S. Creative Studio, as well as global and regional marketing teams, agencies, and creators, we ensure OpenAI’s brand principles are honored, protected, and expressed responsibly everywhere people meet our products.
About the Role
As a Senior Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and executing OpenAI’s brand across international markets. You’ll help translate global creative direction into culturally resonant, beautifully crafted work ensuring that what we build feels both unmistakably OpenAI and meaningfully local.
This role sits at the intersection of global brand systems and local expression. You’ll collaborate closely with the U.S. Creative Studio and regional marketing teams to adapt, evolve, and originate creative work across campaigns, launches, events, and moments that bring our brand to life around the world.
You are a highly conceptual and visually exceptional designer with strong craft across disciplines. You think in systems but care deeply about details. You understand how to work within a global framework and when to thoughtfully flex it. You are culturally curious, collaborative by nature, and motivated by building work that feels at home everywhere without losing coherence.
This role is based in London, UK. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week.
In this role, you will
- Design and deliver high-quality work across international brand campaigns, marketing, digital, content, experiential, events, and partnerships
- Translate global brand strategy and creative direction into culturally resonant executions across markets
- Uphold a high bar for craft, concept, and storytelling from initial explorations through final delivery
- Collaborate closely with the U.S. Creative Studio to apply global systems, standards, and guidance consistently and thoughtfully
- Partner with regional marketing teams to develop market-specific ideas and adaptations that feel bold, relevant, and unmistakably on-brand
- Contribute to the evolution of OpenAI’s visual system and design principles, bringing a global lens and strong point of view
- Work with external agencies, production studios, and creative partners, helping to shape direction, review work, and maintain quality
- Interpret briefs and strategy, identifying the core insight and translating it into clear creative routes and design solutions
- Present and communicate design decisions effectively to cross-functional stakeholders, balancing ambition with responsibility
- Support and elevate other designers through feedback, collaboration, and shared craft (without formal people management)
You might thrive in this role if you
- Have a strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual clarity, refined craft, and thoughtful execution across multiple mediums
- Bring experience working on brand projects at a global or international scale, with sensitivity to cultural nuance and local context
- Are highly hands-on and enjoy shaping ideas from early concept through to final delivery
- Have a sharp design eye and a clear point of view and can articulate your thinking with confidence and clarity
- Enjoy collaborating across cultures, markets, and time zones in dynamic, fast-moving environments
- Elevate the work through thoughtful feedback, shared craft, and a generous team mindset (without formal people management responsibilities)
- Balance creativity with rigor, strategic thinking, and a strong sense of brand responsibility
