Senior Healthcare Assistant

Holly Lea Village is a boutique retirement village situated in the heart of Fendalton & is a historic Christchurch icon. Holly Lea Village Care Centre offers rest home, hospital level, and pallative up to end-of-life care.

We are looking for a full-time Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team. Holly Lea Village is at an exciting stage of new developments. We are looking for an individual who understands an holistic approach to care and is aligned with our vision of personalised and tailored care. Someone who can provide compassionate and high-quality care, support the Registered Nurse, follow care plans and enhance the quality of the resident's lives.

Key Role Details & Requirements

• NZQA Level 4 or higher Qualification in Health & Wellbeing Advanced Support or equivalent is essential, including overseas nursing qualifications;
• Qulifications and experience in Dementia care;
• Medication administration experience;
• Great people skills, with empathy for the elderly;
• Effective written and oral communication skills in order to communicate residents needs;
• Good time management skills and ability to manage workload effectively;
• The ability to work on a rostered shift basis (including nights);
• New Zealand aged care experience is essential.
• Applicants must be able to pass a New Zealand Police Vetting application and should have valid New Zealand work rights.
• Roles and duties will include but are not limited to:
• Assisting residents with their personal care needs;
• Ability to follow and implement care plans;
• Ability to assist residents with exercises, and basic treatment;
• Medication competent & able to administer medication.
