Seeking a full-time Senior Scientist II Air Quality Modeling, this remote position will manage complex research projects at the intersection of air quality, environmental public health, and science-to-policy engagement while serving as a Principal Investigator and Branch Lead within the Environmental Modeling and Engineering Branch.

##### Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of a strategic research portfolio in air quality and oversee grant-funded projects as Principal Investigator

Supervise staff, providing mentorship and support for their professional development while fostering a collaborative team environment

Engage in fundraising efforts and represent the organization externally as an expert in air quality through publications and presentations

##### Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in atmospheric science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field, with a recognized record in air quality science

Senior Scientist I: Minimum 3+ years post-doctoral experience; Senior Scientist II: Minimum 5+ years with demonstrated strategic leadership

Proven experience leading funded research and engaging with regulators and community stakeholders

Deep expertise in air quality modeling and experience with emissions inventory tools and large environmental datasets

Excellent communication skills and experience supervising staff across multiple career levels
