Senior Solicitor / Associate - Commercial Corporate

We’re looking for a 3–7 PQE commercial/corporate lawyer to join Duncan Cotterill’s Auckland team. This role is a strong fit for someone with general commercial or corporate experience, who is ready to operate with more autonomy, take greater ownership of matters and continue developing as a trusted adviser.

You’ll work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a broad mix of commercial and corporate matters for businesses, business owners, start-ups, established enterprises, investors and international clients.

The work includes commercial contracts, business sale and purchase transactions, M&A, shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, capital raising, employee share schemes, restructures, succession planning and broader commercial advice.

What you’ll be working on:

A broad mix of commercial and corporate advisory work

Business sale and purchase transactions, M&A, shareholder arrangements and joint ventures

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts

Capital raising, employee share schemes, restructures and succession planning matters

You’ll have direct partner and client contact, with the opportunity to run aspects of matters, contribute to strategy and keep building your skills.

You’ll bring:

3–7 years’ experience in general commercial and/or corporate work

Sound commercial judgement and confidence managing competing priorities

Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills

A practical, client-focused approach and confidence building relationships

A proactive, collaborative style and readiness to take greater ownership
