• MCS Group is partnering with an innovative software company in Dublin who are looking for an experienced Software Architect to play a key role in the next stage of their growth.
• This is a really interesting opportunity because it isn't about coming in and maintaining an existing architecture.
• The business already has a successful SaaS product supporting high-volume, business-critical operations, but they're now investing heavily in building the next generation of their platform.
• You'll have a lot of influence over what that looks like, from the overall architecture and technology choices through to engineering standards, scalability, resilience and security.
• If you enjoy getting into complex technical problems, working closely with strong engineering teams and having genuine input into how a platform is built, this could be a really good one.
• What you'll be doing...

As Software Architect, you'll work closely with the engineering leadership team to shape the long-term technical direction of the platform.

You'll still be close to the technology, but your main focus will be making the right architectural decisions, setting standards and helping engineering teams build a platform that can scale with the business.

You'll be responsible for

• Owning the architecture of a modern cloud-native SaaS platform
• Defining the longer-term technical vision and architecture roadmap
• Designing scalable, secure and resilient distributed systems
• Leading architecture across application, cloud, integrations and data
• Setting engineering standards and architecture principles
• Working closely with Engineering and Product on major technical decisions
• Supporting teams through complex technical challenges and trade-offs
• Driving best practice across Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture and Domain-Driven Design
• Improving performance, reliability, observability and overall platform resilience
• Helping shape how AI can be used responsibly across engineering and future platform capabilities
• Mentoring senior engineers and helping raise the technical bar across the team

• What we're looking for...

You could currently be working as a Software Architect, Technical Architect, Platform Architect, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer or a Lead Engineer who has taken on significant architecture responsibility.

Ideally, you'll have

Strong experience designing and delivering cloud-native SaaS platforms

Excellent AWS architecture experience

A strong background in distributed systems and microservices

Good knowledge of modern software architecture patterns

Experience designing highly available, scalable and resilient systems

The ability to work across both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience influencing engineering teams without necessarily having direct line management responsibility

A genuine interest in modern engineering and continually improving how things are built
