<p><b><b>About the Team & Role</b></b></p><p>This role specializes in modern, cloud-native environments, bridging the gap between high-scale software development and advanced system observability.</p><p></p><p>You will be a key architect of our<b> "Observability-as-Code"</b> strategy, ensuring that monitoring, alerting, and asset management are baked into the development process rather than treated as an afterthought.</p><h3></h3><p></p><p><b><b>How you’ll make an impact</b></b></p><ul><li><p><b>Observability as Code (OaC):</b> Utilize <b>Grafana Cloud</b> and <b>Splunk Cloud</b> to build deep visibility into system health. Manage these platforms using <b>Configuration-as-Code</b> (e.g., Terraform, Grafana Grizzly, or Splunk Monitoring-as-Code) to ensure environment parity and version-controlled dashboards.</p></li><li><p><b>Incident Response & Asset Intelligence:</b> Integrate <b>xMatters</b> for automated incident routing and communication. Utilize <b>Axonius</b> to maintain a comprehensive, real-time inventory of cyber assets and ensure security compliance across the tech stack.</p></li><li><p><b>Documentation & Mentorship:</b> Create and maintain high-fidelity technical documentation and runbooks to empower future engineers and managers to resolve issues independently.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Experience you’ll bring</b></b></p><ul><li><p><b>Core Engineering:</b> Experience in software development (Python, Java, Go, or similar) with a strong grasp of the full SDLC.</p></li><li><p><b>Observability Expertise:</b> 5+years of proven experience with <b>Grafana Cloud</b> and <b>Splunk Cloud</b>. You must be comfortable managing these tools via code (Terraform providers or dedicated CLI tools) rather than just manual UI configuration.</p></li><li><p><b>Cloud Proficiency:</b> Practical experience with cloud-based tools and internet-related infrastructure.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Incident Management:</b> Experience configuring <b>xMatters</b> for intelligent automated alerting and on-call workflows.</p></li><li><p><b>Asset Management:</b> Experience with <b>Axonius</b> for cybersecurity asset management and identifying coverage gaps in security tooling.</p></li><li><p><b>DevOps Mindset:</b> Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the ability to integrate observability metrics into deployment gates.</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p>The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
