Support Worker
Job Description
Want to join an ambitious Charity making a big impact? Through our world leading research, advocacy, care and support services we’re making a positive difference to people living with epilepsy. Join us and be part of it!
We are seeking friendly and dedicated Support Workers to join our team to provide essential care to those living with epilepsy and associated needs.
About the role
From accompanying someone to college, supporting them to go shopping, or enjoying a theatre show in London, to helping them achieve personal goals and build confidence within their community, you'll play a vital role in creating opportunities and memorable experiences.
You'll provide compassionate, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and aspirations. This may include assisting with personal care while always promoting dignity, respect, independence, and choice.
Whether it's getting creative with arts and crafts, cheering on a favourite football team, taking part in drama sessions, enjoying music, exploring local attractions, or simply spending quality time together, you'll help make every day enjoyable and meaningful.
This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to build rewarding relationships, develop valuable skills, and have a lasting, positive impact on people's lives. If you're caring, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
The role is ideal for someone either already experienced in working in care, who is looking to bring their knowledge, skills, and experience into a new environment, and who is interested in developing their career through our management training development programme, or someone who is brand new to care and wants to kick start their career, whilst making a difference to the lives of others.
You’ll need a positive ‘can do’ approach and a flexible approach to work. This busy position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Learning and development training opportunities will be provided, including a recognised Care Certificate and support towards an industry recognised qualification if desired.
The post holder should demonstrate our people values of CAIRO (Caring, Accountable, Improving, Respectful and Open.)
A DBS (Disclosure & Barring) check will be required before appointment is confirmed.
If you are inspired to apply, please do so attaching your CV and brief covering letter explaining why you would love to join our team.
Regretfully, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. If you require sponsorship of any kind, please do not apply, as applications requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
