Telecommunication Technician
Job Description
About the role
Install and test fibre and copper network into homes and businesses. Scope both residential and business installations. Wire internal and external networks in houses and offices. Set up and configure LAN for customers including their equipment to specifications. Connect ONT devices to existing LAN networks for network compatibility. Perform blowing, hauling and splicing of both copper and fibre using mechanical and hand-held tools. Program and configure computer networks and fibre devices. Perform rigging and networking work. Conduct MDU build work with knowledge of installing GPX, Budi, and IFDB. Draw Asbuilts. Test, repair and replace faulty equipment with electronic tools. Maintain, test and install cables, wires and aerials ensuring optimal network performance. Work in confined spaces and perform civil and scoping work including concrete cutting and reinstatement. Troubleshoot fibre optic cable for internet and telephony. Install micro ducts and ducting. Manage customer experience, escalations and complaints. Close jobs daily.

About you
Knowledgeable in copper fault finding and provisioning
Knowledgeable in reading plans
Capable of doing build work and reinstatement
Capable of doing trenching and using mechanical devices like trencher, concrete cutter and terrasaw
Able to work in confined spaces
Able to perform civil and scoping work which may include concrete cutting and reinstating, thrusting and underground work
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Exceptional customer service and customer interaction skills
