Tracked Excavator Operator
Job Description
Kinvara Corporate Legacy Limited requires multiple Tracked Excavator Operators for their premises at Carnamadra, Kinvara, Co. Galway.
The salary range starts from €36,605 (18.05/hr) to €54,000 (26.63/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tracked excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Carry out excavation for foundations, drainage, trenches and site preparation.
- Excavate and backfill in accordance with site drawings and engineering specifications.
- Load and move soil, stone and other construction materials.
- Work safely around existing underground utilities and services.
- Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks on plant equipment.
- Report mechanical faults or defects to site management.
- Work closely with site managers, engineers, banksmen and groundworkers.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and site rules.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with other site duties where required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience operating tracked excavators on construction or civil engineering projects.
- Valid excavator operator certification (CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, QQI, SOLAS or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and construction site safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
Desirable
- Experience working on commercial, residential, pharmaceutical or infrastructure projects.
- Experience operating tracked excavators ranging from 8 to 30 tonnes.
- Safe Pass certification (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
- Manual Handling certification.
