Days Required: Monday to Sunday either day or night shift (flexible hours)

Hourly rate: Between $32-$35 per hour

Kauri Civil Limited is Auckland-based Construction Trucking Company. Our 6W Tipper Trucks (road ranger gearbox) work day and night on various construction projects (road construction, house construction, hot mix) all over Auckland.

We are currently looking for a Truck Driver to join our friendly team. You must be committed, reliable and have a Clean & Current Truck Driving license. Reliability and right attitude are key to succeeding in this role.

Your duties will include but not limited to

• Drive a 6-wheeler Tipper Truck (for construction and hot mix) work.
• Transporting various materials in a safe, timely manner
• Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices.
• Ensuring safe distribution and restraint of loads in the tip tray.
• Planning routes and maintaining vehicle logbooks.
• Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles.
• Making regular maintenance checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely.
• Looking after company reputation to our client.
• Notify of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Pre-checks of vehicle before each trip – including oil, water, fuel, air pressure levels are in line with road safety and vehicle safety standards
• Ensure truck is kept clean and tidy and carry out minor maintenance
• Follow correct safety procedures
• Comply with all traffic laws at all times
• To be successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate:
• Clean & Current Class 4 NZ Truck Driving Licence
• Must be able to safely operate manual transmission trucks.
• 6-12 months of Truck Driving experience (preferred but not essential).
• Competent in reversing heavy vehicles and operating Roadranger gearboxes.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling and lifting as required.
• Pass the drug and alcohol tests
• No criminal records
• Clean driving record (No previous Driving incidents) and commitment to safety
• Availability of work required: Monday to Sunday, Day and Night shifts, Weekend availability and you may be required to work during public holidays
• Be able to work in conditions that may be stressful, including poor weather and Heavy Traffic
• Mechanically minded would be an advantage
• Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong results-focused work ethic
• Time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
• Have understanding of Health & Safety & Logbook requirements
