Truck Driver / Yard Person — Class 5 Preferred, Class 2 Minimum

Location: Hinuera, Matamata
Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week guaranteed
Rural Direct Matamata is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Truck Driver / Yard Person to join our Hinuera team.
We would prefer someone with a Class 5 licence, but welcome applications from drivers with a Class 2 licence or higher.
You MUST currently be living in New Zealand and have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for this role.
Driving is the main focus of this role, but you’ll also be responsible for loading and unloading your own truck and helping with general yard duties. We’re looking for someone practical who takes pride in their work and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
The Role
Carrying out deliveries safely and efficiently
Loading and unloading your own truck, checking orders and securing loads correctly
Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues
Completing delivery paperwork accurately and obtaining customer signatures
Providing friendly, professional service to customers
Picking, stacking and organising stock
Keeping the yard clean, tidy and safe
Helping the team with general yard duties between deliveries
Following health and safety procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
A current New Zealand Class 2 driver licence as a minimum — Class 5 preferred
Someone local to Matamata or the surrounding area would be ideal.
You MUST currently be in New Zealand and have the legal right to work here
Previous truck-driving experience and a safe driving record
Experience loading trucks and securing loads
Forklift experience and a current forklift qualification would be an advantage
Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on outdoor work
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Good communication skills and a helpful attitude towards customers and teammates
Strong attention to safety and care for vehicles, equipment and products
