Confined Competition: This is a confined competition limited to the Education and Training Candidate Sector Pool i.e., eligible administration & library staff within SETU, Technological Universities, Institutes of Technology and Education & Training Boards at specific grades.
Vacancy I.D.: Undergraduate Administrator - Grade IV Assistant Staff Officer (Confined Competition 1 Year Specified Purpose)
Contract: 1-Year Whole-Time, Specified Purpose Contract
* Salary: The gross salary scale applicable to the grade of Assistant Staff Officer is €39,490 - €56,015 p.a on a full-time basis (rates effective 01/06/2026).
The Faculty of Education and Lifelong Learning is the central agency responsible for promoting the growth and development of part-time, flexible courses including course marketing and promotion; course development, delivery and quality assurance; liaison with external partners including funding agencies and industry partners; central student advice and liaison.
The Faculty works in partnership with all the other Faculties and with external partners to offer part- time and flexible courses, across levels 6-9, to the general public and to industry. The Department of Education offers teachers and educators a broad suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Education, including Adult Literacy; Community Education and Development; Initial Teacher Education for the Further Education and Training (FET) sector; Teaching and Learning; Technology-enhanced Learning and Educational Leadership.
The post-holder will provide administrative support to the Department in all aspects of the Department’s undergraduate programme planning and delivery as well as administrative support to the School of Education and Lifelong Learning generally.
