Job Description

Permanent | Full-time | Tuesday–Saturday, 8.00am–4.30pm | South Island | Hybrid

Help shape how SPCA supports its volunteers and fosterers across the South Island as our Volunteer and Foster Administrator. You’ll manage the systems, processes and day-to-day coordination that keep our volunteer and foster programmes running well, while working with Centres across the South Island to improve the experience from application and onboarding through to training, engagement and retention.

This is a varied role within our National Volunteer and Foster team, with the opportunity to influence how we work nationally while staying closely connected to our Centre teams and the people who give their time to help animals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Reporting to the Volunteer and Foster Lead, you’ll be a key member of the National Volunteer and Foster team. You’ll work across SPCA Centres throughout the South Island, supporting Centre teams, volunteers and fosterers while helping maintain consistent national standards and processes.

Your role will include:

Maintain the systems, records and processes that support volunteers and fosterers, including intake, training, engagement, reporting and tracking.

Process and progress applications, conduct interviews, coordinate inductions and training, and help ensure volunteers have the information and resources they need to succeed.

Work closely with Centre teams, volunteers and fosterers to provide timely, practical support and keep activities, shifts, appointments, training and events organised.

Identify opportunities to make volunteer and foster processes more consistent, efficient and effective, and contribute to national projects that improve collaboration and community outreach.

Maintain accurate information, complete reporting, support audits and surveys, and use data to identify trends and opportunities to improve the volunteer and foster experience.

Help create and maintain standardised guides, training materials, processes and other resources used by Centre teams, volunteers and fosterers.

Manage competing priorities, respond to calls and enquiries, maintain foster supplies and ensure administration is completed accurately and on time.
