Job Description
**What to Expect**
Infrastructure Engineering is looking for an innovative Wastewater Engineer to join our Process Utilities Design team. The Process Utilities Design team drives to create the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edge detailed design of chemical, wastewater, and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing and refining plants.
**What You'll Do**
- Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of engineering tools to solve technical problems and create novel detailed designs for process water systems. Process water systems include: Wastewater Collection and Distribution, Clarification, Chemical Precipitation, Sludge Handling, Ultrafiltration, Reverse osmosis, Ion Exchange, Zero-Liquid Discharge Plants, Associated chemical dosing systems such as NaOH and Sulfuric Acid
- Lead scope development and produce basis of design documentation supporting CAPEX estimation, OPEX projections, and vendor selection
- Lead completion of construction drawings for permit and construction execution
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), 3D equipment layouts, 3D pipe layouts, and isometric fabrication drawings
- Generate process engineering calculations and documentation, including mass and energy balances, reaction kinetics, hydraulic analysis, thermodynamic system modeling, relief valve selection
- Produce specifications for equipment, piping and valve selection and sizing ensuring material compatibility
- Work directly with piping modelers to develop fabrication detail drawing packages for Construction
**What You'll Bring**
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in wastewater and specialty water system design, process improvement or operations. Experience in detailed design and issuance of fabrication drawings for wastewater systems common to high-tech industries such as semiconductor, specialty chemical, solar, battery
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 months is preferred
- Subject matter expertise in applicable codes such as OSHA, EPA Clean Water Act, ASME piping codes, AWWA, and relevant building codes
- Ability to lead or participate in reactive chemical process hazard evaluations and HAZOP reviews of PSM-covered and other hazardous chemical systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revisto, Bluebeam, Pipe-Flo, Relief Valve Sizing Software, and process steady-state and dynamic modeling
- Working knowledge and experience with permitting of wastewater systems
