About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a hands-on construction or yard background to step into a key role with one of New Zealand’s leading construction companies. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will liaise with our other plant teams across New Zealand while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our Auckland yard. With the position split approximately 80% labouring and 20% administration, it offers a great opportunity for someone looking to build broader experience across construction operations, plant coordination and site support. The role is based in South Auckland and operates Monday to Friday, 6.30am–4.00pm.

Job Purpose

To support the efficient, organised and safe operation of the LTM Plant and yard by coordinating plant bookings and movement, truck dispatch, equipment readiness, stock control, record keeping and daily yard activities. The role is responsible for helping ensure plant and equipment are available, maintained, fit for purpose and dispatched efficiently, while upholding LTM Health and Safety policies, supporting site requirements, and carrying out the duties listed below.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Coordinate daily yard operations and labour.

Manage plant, equipment, dispatch and logistics.

Ensure equipment is safe, maintained and ready for use.

Support site requirements and liaise with suppliers.

Maintain an organised, efficient and well-presented yard.

Champion Health and Safety across all yard activities.

Health, Safety & Environment:

The role is physically strenuous and demanding.

The incumbent will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.

Work will be carried out in all weather, including both extreme heat and cold.

All necessary precautions must be taken at all times.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Ideally construction background (min two years)

A full and clean driver’s license, forklift experience would be ideal.

Basic computer skills, Outlook & Excel

Practical experience in yard, plant, construction, logistics, or similar operations.

Confidence allocating tasks, communicating clearly, and keeping work organised.

Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, equipment handling, yard procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Strong attention to detail when recording dispatches, deliveries, returns, damage, maintenance, and compliance information.

Good time-management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
