UK Sponsor Licence Checker

Questions about sponsor licences
- How do I check if a UK employer has a sponsor licence?
- Type the employer's name above. We search the Home Office register of licensed sponsors (Workers and Temporary Workers), which lists every organisation allowed to sponsor a visa, with its town, rating and the visa routes it can sponsor. The register uses legal names, so try the company's registered name if its trading name finds nothing.
- What do the A and B ratings mean?
- An A rating is the normal rating of a licensed sponsor. A B rating means the Home Office has asked the employer to fix compliance problems under an action plan; while B-rated it generally cannot assign new certificates of sponsorship.
- What does the route mean?
- The route is the kind of visa the employer can sponsor: Skilled Worker for most jobs (Health and Care Worker visas included), Seasonal Worker for farm work, and others such as Global Business Mobility or Creative Worker.
- The employer is not on the register. Can it still sponsor me?
- Not until it holds a licence: an employer must be a licensed sponsor when it assigns you a certificate of sponsorship. If it was on the register and no longer is, its licence may have been surrendered, suspended or revoked.
- Is this the official register?
- No. ApplyWave is not part of the Home Office or GOV.UK. We copy the register the Home Office publishes on GOV.UK and check it for a new edition every day; the date of the edition we hold is shown above.
