What is the Subclass 482 visa?

The Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) replaced the Temporary Skill Shortage visa in December 2024. It lets approved Australian sponsors hire foreign workers for jobs on the Core Skills Occupation List or above the Specialist Skills salary.

What are the requirements for the Skills in Demand visa?

You need a job offer from an approved sponsor, the occupation must be on the Core Skills Occupation List (or pay above the Specialist Skills threshold), you must meet skills assessment and English language requirements, and the salary must meet the Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT).
