1690108 Workshop Service Technician
Job Description
Due to company growth, our client is looking for a workshop-based technician. This role will require the successful applicant to complete a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks. The primary responsibility for this role will be the inspection and rebuild of heavy gearboxes.
As a technician, you will be responsible for:
Commissioning, fault finding, repairs, rigging/de-rigging, and maintenance of specialist heavy equipment within the workshop facility.
Providing technical support to customers and service personnel via telephone to assist with fault diagnosis and resolution.
Liaising with the manufacturer’s after-sales support team to provide feedback from site operations and assist in resolving technical issues.
Conducting inspections, repairs, and overhauls of heavy-duty gearboxes and planetary reduction units, including the preparation of detailed reports and supporting documentation.
The ideal candidate will be:
A strong understanding of modern mobile hydraulic systems and electrical/electronic systems.
Previous experience in the overhaul and repair of Hydraulic motors and pumps, Industrial engines, or Industrial gearboxes/torque reductions.
A meticulous and methodical approach to complex mechanical repairs.
Good literacy and IT skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and produce technical documentation.
A full UK driving licence and valid passport.
Flexibility in working hours, including occasional out-of-hours work and travel throughout the UK and Ireland as required.
