Role: Data Scientist Location: Nottingham, UK (80% Remote) Salary: £60k The Opportunity A growing, data-driven organisation is looking for a Data Scientist to help unlock the value of its data. This is a hands-on role where you'll work on a mix of analytics and machine learning projects, partnering with different teams to turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. You'll have the freedom to own problems end-to-end, from exploration through to deployment, while contributing to a modern, evolving data function.What You'll Be DoingDesigning and building data science solutions using PythonExploring datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunitiesApplying statistical methods and machine learning techniques to solve business challengesUsing clustering and segmentation to enhance analysis where relevantTranslating technical outputs into clear insights for a range of stakeholdersSupporting the deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of modelsContributing to best practices, tooling, and ways of working within the data teamWhat They're Looking ForAround 3-5 years' experience in a Data Science or advanced analytics roleStrong Python skills, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learnExperience with gradient boosting frameworks (e.g. LightGBM or similar)Solid grounding in statistics and machine learning conceptsComfortable working with structured data and SQLAbility to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience taking models beyond experimentation into production environmentsStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilityNice to HaveExposure to R for analysis or experimentationUnderstanding of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, Docker, or similar)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflowsExperience working in Agile environments
