Agra Risk Solutions Inc., located at 1475 Wheatland Trail, Strathmore, AB T1P 1K1 is seeking an Accountant. Full-Time, permanent position. English speaking workplace.\r\n\r\nWage: $46.00/hour for 37.50 hours per week\r\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or related fields.\r\nExperience: 3 years plus of accounting experience, knowledge of agriculture and agribusiness. Experience preparing financial statements and management reporting packages. Knowledge of industry funding programs.\r\nBenefits: Medical\r\n\r\nDuties:\r\n-Financial Reporting & Analysis\r\n-Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.\r\n-Complete month-end and year-end accounting processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.\r\n-Analyze financial results and prepare variance analyses compared to budgets and prior periods.\r\n-Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.\r\n-Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.\r\n-Develop and maintain financial reporting models and key performance indicators (KPIs).\r\n-Support external accountants and auditors during year-end engagements.\r\n-Provide financial recommendations to management to improve profitability and operational performance.\r\n\r\nInternal Accounting & Financial Administration\r\n-Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger maintenance.\r\n-Review and approve accounting entries and account reconciliations.\r\n-Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.\r\n-Maintain accounting systems and financial records.\r\n-Support financing activities, including lender reporting, covenant compliance, and financing applications.\r\n-Assist with corporate tax information requirements and coordination with external tax advisors.\r\n\r\nGovernment Grants & Funding Programs\r\n-Research federal, provincial, and municipal agricultural funding opportunities.\r\n-Monitor new grant programs, cost-shared funding initiatives, sustainability incentives, innovation grants, and agricultural development programs.\r\n-Assess organizational eligibility and strategic fit for grant opportunities.\r\n-Coordinate, prepare, and submit grant applications and supporting documentation.\r\n-Manage grant reporting requirements and compliance obligations.\r\n-Track grant funding, reimbursement claims, project milestones, and program deadlines.\r\n-Liaise with government agencies, funding organizations, and industry stakeholders.\r\n-Maintain a funding calendar and proactively identify future opportunities.\r\n\r\nSpecial Projects\r\n-Lead or support special business initiatives as assigned by management.\r\n-Conduct financial analysis and business case evaluations for strategic opportunities.\r\n-Assist with acquisitions, expansions, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives.\r\n-Coordinate project planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting.\r\n-Develop financial models to support management decision-making.\r\n-Participate in process improvement projects to enhance operational and financial efficiency.\r\n\r\nPlease send resume with cover letter, references by clicking on APPLY TO THIS POSITION.\r\n
