We are seeking an energetic, detail-driven Accounts Receivable & Assistant Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team on a 6-month fixed-term full-time contract covering parental leave.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, this is a dynamic, multi-functional role that provides vital operational and financial support across both our finance and wholesale divisions. You will act as a key liaison connecting our factory, regional retail shop network, and corporate finance team — ensuring incoming wholesale funds (AR) and outgoing supplier payments (AP) are processed smoothly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Operational Support: Serve as the main point of contact for wholesale clients and assist the Wholesale Manager by managing daily order entries, phone inquiries, and email communications.

Accounts Payable & Price Verification: Perform data entry for supplier payments, verify store delivery notes against supplier invoices to ensure pricing accuracy, and assist with supplier payment runs.
Cash Management & Banking: Reconcile and maintain the Sushi Wholesale cash book while verifying that physical cash deposits from retail stores match internal accounting records.
The successful applicant must:

Excellent numerical and data interpretation skills with proven accuracy managing high-volume data.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills to liaise effectively with Directors, store staff, factory managers, and external customers.

Who we are:
St Pierre's is an iconic name in the New Zealand food landscape, synonymous with accessible and fresh Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi. What began as a humble delicatessen and seafood store in Wellington in 1984, founded by three brothers, has evolved into a nationwide phenomenon.
Today, with over 80 stores across New Zealand, St Pierre's is celebrated for its commitment to providing "Kiwi standard sushi" – a healthy, value-for-money, and convenient meal option that has successfully captured the hearts (and appetites) of New Zealanders. Beyond sushi, our menu has expanded to include popular hot dishes, such as Bento Bowls and "chicken on rice," continuously innovating to cater to evolving tastes. St Pierre's stands as a testament to entrepreneurial vision and a deep understanding of the local market, making it a beloved and enduring brand in Aotearoa.
