• Salary: £46,579 - £50,908 (SCP 3438)
• Plus an additional annual AMHP allowance of £2,025 (subject to eligibility and requirements).
• Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time), Monday to Friday

• About the Role
• Rochdale Borough Council is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Adult Social Care service as an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker within our Mental Health Teams.
• This is a full-time, permanent position and a key leadership role within the service, offering the chance to shape practice, support staff development, and influence high-quality outcomes for adults in our community.
• The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will

• Provide leadership, supervision, and support to social workers and support planners
• Play a vital role within the management team (this is a non-case-holding position)
• Offer professional guidance on complex cases and decision-making
• Promote a learning culture and high standards of practice

Ensure effective application of key legislation, including:

• + Care Act 2014
• + Mental Capacity Act 2005
• + Safeguarding frameworks
• + Section 117 Aftercare (Mental Health Act)
• Professional Requirements
• Essential:
• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England

You must also

Be a qualified and practising AMHP, or currently on the AMHP training pathway, or willing to undertake the training

Be a qualified Best Interest Assessor (BIA) or willing to train to support the rota

Knowledge & Skills

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience in adult social care and/or mental health services
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of relevant legislation and practice frameworks
• Can confidently support and guide others with complex cases
• Has experience (or interest) in staff supervision and/or supporting students
• Works collaboratively with multi-agency partners
• Is committed to promoting continuous improvement and quality assurance
