Reporting to:Line Manager

Hours/Working Pattern:35 hours per week, rotating shifts 5 out of 7 days per week

Contractual Requirements: Candidates must be aged 18+ and willing to undergo a DBS check

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice Chefto join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences at Grantham on a full-time basis contracted to 35 hours per week.

As an apprentice Commis Chefyou will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills through structured training. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the L2 Commis Chef qualification and become a qualified Commis Chef.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Preparing food promptly and to recipe specifications.

Completing opening, closing and additional duties as instructed.

Keeping workstations and cooking equipment clean, organised and sanitised.

Maintaining correct food temperatures and storage procedures.

Following all food safety standards and regulations.

Our Ideal Apprentice Will:

Have basic food preparation and cooking skills.

Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Be positive, reliable, punctual and willing to learn.

Show initiative and take ownership of their development.

Work well under pressure with strong attention to detail.

Follow safe food-handling and hygiene practices.

Prepare food efficiently while minimising waste.

Be flexible to work evenings, weekends and varied shifts.

Ideally have previous kitchen, catering, hospitality or customer service experience.

Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
