Boilermaker Apprenticeship

Mobile Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship (Diesel Fitter / Mechanic)

Boilermaker Apprenticeship

As a Boilermaker Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified tradespersons to develop practical metal fabrication and welding skills while helping to build Bucher Municipal equipment. You will learn to complete work in line with engineering drawings, design specifications, quality standards and safety requirements while completing your apprenticeship training.

Your day-to-day learning will include

Learn to fabricate and assemble components for municipal equipment

Develop practical MIG welding, oxy cutting and metal fabrication skills

Fit an install fabricated components and repair structural steel.

Read and interpret engineering drawings with guidance

Measure, mark out, cut and prepare materials for fabrication

Learn to use workshop tools, machinery and lifting equipment safely

Mobile Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship (Diesel Fitter / Mechanic)

As a Mobile Plant Mechanic Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified tradespersons to develop practical skills in servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Bucher Municipal vehicles and equipment. You will gain hands-on experience working on refuse collection, sweeper and vacuum equipment, including their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, while completing the training requirements of your apprenticeship.

Your day-to-day learning will include

Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults under the guidance of qualified tradespersons

Learn to perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on Bucher Municipal vehicles and equipment

Assist with breakdown repairs and field service work at customer sites when required

Gain hands-on experience rebuilding pumps, hydraulic components and driveline systems

Learn to inspect vehicles and equipment to help ensure they operate safely and efficiently

Develop troubleshooting skills using diagnostic equipment and software

Prepare service reports and complete work orders accurately

Learn to support customers by providing technical information and assistance with equipment operation issues
