Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio is a 13-19 Mainstream Studio School based in Darwen, Lancashire, specialising in Creative/Technical Digital Technologies and Care Sector.

About the Role:

We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer at Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio. The aim of the role is to support the Assistant Principal in implementing a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders based on high standards. Helping to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where positive relationships, collaboration, and effective learning can flourish. You will provide high standards of administrative support and a level of service which enables teachers to teach and students to learn.

Essential Criteria

Educated to at least GCSE standard including Maths and English Grade C/5 or above

Basic First Aid or willingness to undertake it

Understanding of current DfE attendance guidance and statutory attendance procedures.

Knowledge of persistent absence, severe absence and attendance intervention frameworks.

A robust awareness of safeguarding, keeping children safe, noticing welfare concerns, and understanding how and when to take appropriate action.

Knowledge of barriers to attendance and strategies to support vulnerable learners.

Experience of analysing attendance data (using a range of sources) and producing reports.

Experience of working directly with parents/carers to improve learner attendance.

Experience of managing challenging conversations professionally and constructively.

Experience of maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information.

Experience of multi-agency working and referral processes.

A strong background of effective communication across a diverse group of stakeholders

Desired Criteria

Experience as an Attendance Officer, Education Welfare Officer or Family Support Worker.

Experience of attendance panel meetings and legal attendance processes.

Experience of using Bromcom attendance reporting tools.
