We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally. If you are passionate about making a positive impact in young people's lives and enjoy working as part of a supportive team, this is a rewarding opportunity. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist in delivering inclusive learning, encourage positive behaviour, monitor student progress, and help create a safe, nurturing environment where every student can succeed.

Monitoring progress and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

This is a part time role, Mondays and Fridays from 8:15am to 3:15pm only.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support: Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with individual needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.

Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons, adapting materials and resources to meet the specific needs of students.

Personal Care: Support students with personal care tasks as needed, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.

Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and social interaction among students.

Monitoring Progress: Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals regarding student progress and any concerns.

Inclusion Activities: Encourage and facilitate the participation of students with individual needs in extracurricular activities and school events.

Training and Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in supporting students with individual needs.

Safeguarding: Adhere to school policies and procedures for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Accountability and Relationships with others:

Participate in the Performance Management Cycle and INSETs.

Make best use of all resources ensuring inventories are accurate and up to date.

Contribute to the wider life of the school and its community.

Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, students, parents/carers, governors, the community and Local Authority and ensure all communication is consistent with the school’s ethos.

Adhere to the Academy dress code.

Adhere to and promote all Trust and academy policies and codes of conduct.

Carry out any such duties as may be reasonably required by the Chief Executive and Principal
