Automotive Technician

We’re looking for a qualified Automotive Technician to join a high-performing, fast-paced site in Wellington. This is a dynamic workshop that hums with activity, driven by a team who take pride in getting the job done right, and enjoying the ride while they do it.

What you’ll be doing:

Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a range of light vehicles – efficiently and accurately

Using the latest diagnostics equipment to solve problems

Develop and maintain good working relationships with employees and other departments to establish a positive workplace culture

Working closely with a team that backs each other

Perform routine and repair work on vehicles in a way that ensures prompt and accurate diagnoses of vehicle problems and service requirements

To identify faults & test-drive company and customer vehicles safely

Work with Service and Parts Advisors to ensure a smooth repair and service of all vehicles, while delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction in order to drive business for the service department and the company overall

Upskilling themselves to keep up to date with the latest in procedures, repairs and product knowledge

Maintaining a full understanding of servicing schedules and the requirements

Completing all formal company and manufacturing required technical training

What we’re looking for:

Relevant NZQF Level 4 Motor trade qualification (or international equivalent) OR at least 3 years’ experience as an Automotive technician

Confidence working across a range of makes and models

Sound fault-finding and diagnostic experience

Proficient computer skills with good written and verbal communication

Quality attention to detail in recording vehicle information, concentrating on getting it right the first time

Someone who’s just as comfortable with a scan tool as a spanner

A team player with a reliable, can-do attitude – your word counts here

Full NZ driver’s licence
