Baader Technician
Job Description
It’s part job, part journey!
Join the team on board the Amaltal Atlantis on a
four-to-six-weeks-on, four-to-six-weeks-off roster. This critical onboard role
pays a percentage of catch and works closely with factory management to keep
Baaders, Trio and other factory equipment operating safely and efficiently at
sea and in port.
As a Baader Technician, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining and repairing Baader processing
machines, Trio skinners and other factory systems.
Diagnosing faults and completing repairs across
electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment to keep production
running.
Setting and adjusting guides, knives, chains and
tooling to meet product specifications, safety requirements and recovery
targets.
Completing preventative maintenance, machine
logs, work orders, test reports and spare-parts inventory records.
Training crew in safe machine operation and
supporting external contractors onboard.
For this role, you’ll need:
A Factory Trawler Technician Level 4
qualification, or equivalent technical training.
Proven experience maintaining and adjusting
Baader equipment on a processing vessel or in a comparable factory environment.
Strong fault-finding, practical problem-solving
and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
A good understanding of vessel safety
requirements, preventative maintenance and safe working practices.
The fitness to work 12-hour shifts and live at
sea in cold, wet, noisy and confined conditions.
