About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a workplace management and smart buildings programme. The role will focus on understanding how people currently use workplace technology, meeting rooms, buildings and office services, before defining business requirements for a more connected and efficient workplace environment.

Lead structured discovery activity to understand current workplace management processes, technology and user requirements.

Work with property, facilities, workplace management and technical teams to define the business problem and desired outcomes.

Gather, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.

Create and maintain a clear requirements catalogue throughout the project.

Assess how meeting rooms, audio-visual technology, office systems and building services currently operate.

Support the development of smart building capabilities across the organisation’s office estate.

Map current-state processes and help design improved future-state workplace services.

Run workshops, interviews and requirements-gathering sessions with senior stakeholders and end users.

Present discovery findings and high-level summaries to senior stakeholders.

Work closely with technical and solution architects to ensure business requirements are technically achievable.

Translate complex technical information into clear business language.

Support the handover from discovery into design and delivery.

Help define priorities, dependencies, risks, benefits and measures of success.

Ensure the proposed solution reflects both user needs and the organisation’s wider workplace strategy.
