Cake Baker & Decorator

Wheatz Bakery Limited operates a central bakery in Penrose and five retail stores across two brands. We are looking for an experienced Cake Baker & Decorator to prepare, bake, assemble and finish cakes for our stores.

THE ROLE

• One full-time position, at least 40 hours per week.
• Location: Penrose, Auckland.
• Pay: NZD $30–$38 per hour; remuneration negotiable for highly experienced candidates.
• Early shifts required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and bake cakes and cake bases.
• Prepare cake fillings and creams, and assemble, fill, ice and decorate cakes.
• Maintain consistent flavour, texture, presentation and portion standards.
• Train and guide production assistants.
• Follow production procedures, hygiene standards and food safety requirements.

ABOUT YOU

• Practical experience in cake production, assembly and decoration.
• Able to produce and finish cakes independently with consistent quality.
• Available for early shifts.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Day-to-day communication in our production area is mainly in Mandarin.
