Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum + superannuation
About us
Veera’s is a busy, well-established restaurant known for quality food and friendly service. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled Chef to join our kitchen team.
About the role
Reporting to the owner, you will help run daily kitchen operations, prepare and cook high-quality dishes, and support the kitchen team during service.
Key responsibilities
Plan menus and develop new dishes
Prepare, cook and present meals to a consistent, high standard
Estimate food and labour costs and help control kitchen budgets
Order and manage stock, check deliveries and minimise wastage
Supervise, train and roster kitchen staff
Ensure food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements are met at all times
Keep the kitchen, equipment and storage areas clean and well organised
About you
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Chef
Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
Able to work well under pressure in a busy service environment
Good leadership and communication skills
* Available to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
