At Goodman Contractors, we specialise in civil construction and are looking for an experienced drainlayer to join our team. You will be working on large projects and local subdivisions, using your skills to help deliver a seriously GOOD job.

What we’re looking for

Our ideal applicant will have

Proven Drainlaying skills and 2–3 years’ experience

Experience with large stormwater systems, headwalls and box culvert installation

Civil construction experience, including associated concrete and plastering work

Drainlaying qualifications, preferably an NZ Certificate in Infrastructure or an NZ Certificate in Pipelaying

Experience operating excavators and wheeled loaders

A qualification is preferred but not essential. We’ll also consider applicants with plenty of experience or who are working towards a qualification.

A Class 2 licence and WTR licence would be an advantage.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be able to

• Demonstrate your equipment operating experience
• Work well as part of a team and be ready to help your workmates
• Carry out heavy labouring, including using plate compactors, concrete saws, hand tools including shovels and bars.
• Concrete work and plastering
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• A five-day working week is expected, with additional work available.
• Applicants must be able to pass a drug test and pre-employment medical, and must hold New Zealand or Australian residency.
