Minimum Qualifications

• One year experience in direct patient care with a home health agency, nursing home, hospital, or completion of a 40‑hour training course with certification.
• Valid Arkansas driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Proof of auto liability insurance.
• Reliable transportation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of personal care techniques.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Ability to respond to individual needs.
• Ability to adjust to various working conditions and settings.
• Ability to assist with lifting and transferring adult clients safely.
• Ability to lift, transfer, squat, bend, and stoop.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Help older people with meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, household tasks, and self‑administered medications.
• Assist with personal grooming (bathing, showering, dressing, shaving, toileting, skin care, dental care, etc.).
• Transfer clients from bed to chair/wheelchair and vice‑versa.
• Perform passive and active range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Operate assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, lifts, mechanical beds, etc.).
• Change and launder bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
• Perform general housekeeping duties (sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes, taking out trash).
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of client’s environment.
• Run errands as needed.
• Observe and document client’s status during each visit and report issues.
