ABOUT THE ROLE
CNC Machinist
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with the capability to work across both milling and turning centres. This is a key role within Fabrum's machine shop, supporting increased workload and production capacity while strengthening operational resilience.
Permanent, Fulltime 40hrs, Day Shift
In this role, you will
- Produce high-quality components for advanced cryogenic technology solutions
- Manufacture Fabrum products and see the operational impact of your work, while also producing a diverse range of contract-manufactured components for external customers
- Complete first-off and sample inspections, verifying machine settings and component dimensions through accurate measurement and quality checks
- Assist in the development of CNC programs and machining strategies for new components, supporting efficient production and consistent quality outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance machining efficiency, capability, and performance
- Undertake machining work across multiple Christchurch sites when required
- *About You*
To be successful in this role, you will have
A minimum of five years' CNC machining experience producing precision engineering components to close tolerances across a wide range of materials
A relevant trade qualification, although extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
Proven ability to set up, prove out, and optimise CNC programs to produce conforming first-off components, followed by batch production and ongoing quality verification through sample inspection
Experience operating multi-axis CNC milling machines and lathes.
Experience with CAD/CAM and online programming would be highly advantageous
A strong commitment to safe working practices and compliance
