About the job:

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Team Leader to join our Construction team in Masterton. This is a field-based role where you’ll lead from the front, work alongside the crew, help troubleshoot jobs on site, and take pride in delivering reliable water, wastewater and stormwater services for the community.

In this role, you’ll help coordinate day-to-day work across the three waters network, keep jobs moving safely and efficiently, and support your team to deliver great outcomes. This may include:

Working alongside the crew to deliver drainage, water, wastewater and stormwater maintenance, including repairs, checks, connections and response work across the network.

Helping plan and schedule day-to-day drainage and three waters maintenance work, including people, plant, materials and job priorities.

Completing site checks, JSEAs, inspections, records, timesheets and job information using tablets and business systems.

Leading, supervising and mentoring crews to deliver work across the three waters network while maintaining a strong culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.

Keeping safety, quality, productivity and environmental care front of mind in everything your crew does.

Monitoring team performance, sharing practical knowledge, and supporting training or coaching where needed.

What you’ll bring:

New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3).

Hands-on experience in drainage, three waters, civil construction or utilities maintenance.

Practical site knowledge, including plant, tools, safety, repairs, checks and field documentation.

Experience leading or supporting a small crew, or the confidence to step up.

Confidence using tablets, job systems and digital tools, or willingness to learn.

Willingness to participate in the on-call and standby roster.

A full Class 1 and 2 licence; Roller, Tracks and Wheels endorsements are an advantage.
