About the job:

We have an exciting opportunity for two Trade Assistants to join our Pumps & Storage Team in Christchurch, with one position available in our Vacuum Team and one in our Mechanical Team.

If you're practical, hands-on, and enjoy working outdoors as part of a supportive team, this could be the perfect next step in your career. You'll play an important role in maintaining and repairing critical water and wastewater infrastructure that helps keep our communities running.

Working across a variety of sites, no two days will be the same. You'll be involved in the maintenance and repair of vacuum pumps, mechanical assets, pipework, and pump station infrastructure, while supporting both planned and reactive works. This role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to develop your skills within the water industry.

What you'll bring:

We're looking for motivated team players who take pride in their work and have a strong focus on safety.

Ideally, you'll have

• Experience in a trade, maintenance, civil construction, water, wastewater, or similar hands-on environment
• Some welding experience
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• A full Class 1 driver's licence

It would be a bonus if you also have

Traffic Management qualifications (STMS or similar)

First Aid certification

Site Safe certification, or a willingness to obtain this

Experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure
