About the role

We are an established pizza and pasta restaurant specialising in preparing and serving a variety of pizzas, pasta and other dishes. Our distinctive flavours and food quality come from the in-house preparation of ingredients, including freshly prepared pizza sauces, pasta sauces, gravies and accompaniments, using a range of cooking methods and techniques. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our team and maintain our high standards of food preparation, taste, quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of dishes

Assist in creating and developing new recipes and special dishes to enhance the restaurant's offerings

Prepare sauces, gravies, marinades, and accompaniments using a range of cooking methods and techniques

Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion control, and presentation

Monitor cooking temperatures, seasoning, and preparation methods to maintain high food quality standards

Prepare, portion, and organise ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and other food items for service

Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in compliance with food safety and health regulations

Train and support junior kitchen staff where necessary

About you

Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a commercial kitchen, or a relevant qualification in Cookery or Food and Beverage

Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices

* Ability to work effectively in a busy commercial kitchen environment
