Courier Driver / Delivery driver – Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay

• Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
• Hours: Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, responsible and motivated Courier Driver to join our local courier business operating as an NZ Couriers contractor in Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay.

The successful applicant will drive an NZ Couriers delivery van, delivering parcels to residential and business customers throughout Wairoa. Duties also include sorting, loading and unloading parcels, collecting consignments, scanning deliveries and providing professional customer service.

This permanent position offers a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, with on-the-job training provided. Previous courier experience is an advantage but not essential. We are looking for someone dependable who can work independently and is committed to long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver parcels safely and efficiently throughout Wairoa.
• Sort, load and unload parcels and collect outgoing consignments.
• Scan deliveries and record proof of delivery.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Complete routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues.
• Follow road safety and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with depot sorting and general courier duties.

Skills and Requirements

• Hold a valid full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence and have a safe driving record.
• Be reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Have good communication and time-management skills.
• Be physically capable of handling parcels safely.
• Be able to work independently and follow instructions.
• Be willing to undergo a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) criminal history check.
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Previous courier or delivery driving experience is not essential, as training will be provided.
